A security practice should hold its own data handling to the standard it audits in others. This is a plain account of what TechJavelin collects on this site, why, and the control you have over it — no dark patterns, no data brokerage.

What we collect & why
Mailing list
If you subscribe, we store your email address and a record of your consent (the wording you agreed to, the time, and where you signed up). Lawful basis: your consent. We use it only to email you about new research and posts — nothing else, never sold.
Post analytics
We keep anonymous, aggregate counts of views, reads, and shares per post. It is first-party and cookieless — no identifiers, no profiles, no cross-site tracking, no third-party analytics service. You can turn it off in Cookie settings. Lawful basis: consent.
Contact
When you send a message through the contact page, we receive what you provide (typically a name, email, and your message) so we can respond. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request / legitimate interest.
Server logs
Our host records standard request logs (including IP address and user agent) transiently for security and operations. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in running a secure service.
Cookies
This site uses only strictly-necessary cookies, and currently sets none for ordinary browsing. Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie. Full detail is in the Cookie Policy.
We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We run no ad networks and no third-party trackers.
Who we share it with
We keep the data on Amazon Web Services (region us-east-1, United States), which hosts this site and its database as our processor. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone. We disclose data only where legally compelled.
How long we keep it
Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to erase them. Analytics data is anonymous and aggregate. Server logs are short-lived. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the correspondence.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Under the CCPA/CPRA (California) you have the right to know, delete, and correct your information, to opt out of sale/sharing (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

International visitors
Our infrastructure is in the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information is processed in the US under the safeguards described here.
Children
This site is a business service and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your data will be reflected here before they take effect.
